Recently, Apple seem to be shrouded in a series of controversies with
the US government (the FBI to be specific) on issues bothering on
security and particularly the encryption of the iPhone.
It all started
when Apple chief, Tim Cook refused a court order that wants the company
to break into the iPhone owned by San Bernardino shooter, Syed Farook.
Farook, along with his wife Tashfeen Malik who were allegedly
responsible for the killing 14 people in December 2 last year.
Amidst this controversies, what is more amazing is the fact that Apple
seem to be more security conscious these days even as the company plans
to roll out a new update for its iOS operating system.
A recent
report has it that Apple has finalised plans to roll out a new version
of the IOS operating system which seem more like a security update.
The
upcoming iOS 9.3 update will add in more security features with the
ability to know if your employer is tracking your device.
If an
iPhone is being tracked by a company, the device will clearly mark it in
the About page of Settings and the lockscreen, says 9To5Mac .
The
message stating, ‘This iPhone is managed by your organisation’ will be
seen at the bottom of the screen.
This feature is obviously missing from
the current version of the IOS operating system.
The new IOS 9.3
is expected to start rolling out by the end of March.
The company also
plans to launch the upcoming 4-inch iPhone SE and 9.7-inch iPad Pro on
March 21, and it is quite likely these devices will be powered by the
IOS 9.3 update.
