Cogito Smartwatches Is To Get Activity Monitoring Feature

CONNECTEDEVICE Ltd, maker of fashionable connected watches, announces the addition of an activity monitoring feature to its full range of COGITO watches. Coming in the first quarter, the new release of the CONNECTED WATCH app and the related over-the-air watch software update enables the activity function in all COGITO CLASSIC and COGITO POP models, including those currently in use and on store shelves.

Different from step-centric Fitness Trackers, COGITO takes a holistic approach to monitoring overall activity levels. COGITO divides time into three activity levels — very active, slightly active and at rest — providing valuable insights into the user's lifestyle. The user interface is not about improving performance, but instead helping consumers improve their life through incremental changes.

All COGITO watches are equipped with an internal accelerometer. Existing users will be prompted to initiate an over-the-air watch software update, a process which will activate the accelerometer. The addition of the Activity Monitor feature in the new release of the CONNECTED WATCH app will then enable the full activity experience.

Industry analysts cite activity monitoring as a key application area as the mainstream appeal of the smartwatch continues to grow. According to GfK research, activity/fitness is the most desirable new feature for a smart-enabled watch. An online survey of 1,000 smartphone users in every major market polled (USA, UK, Germany, South Korea and China) ranked activity/fitness as the top feature.

COGITO CLASSIC brings together the power of a connected watch with the sophistication of a precision-crafted timepiece, seamlessly uniting classic analog movement and intuitive digital notifications. When paired with the app, users can manage a wide range of smartphone functions directly on their wrist — call notifications, social media and message alerts (Facebook, Twitter, Skype, WhatsApp, WeChat), music control, camera activation and more. On the watch face, users can track their step count.

COGITO POP is a fashion watch with a connected twist, blending vibrant colors and trendy design with essential notifications from the smartphone. Created for maximum mainstream appeal, COGITO POP combines fun and functionality to make the smartwatch more accessible to a larger public and a more natural experience for the user. LED icons on the watch face alert users when they have a call, an email or a message on social media sites. The easy-to-use interface lets users manage not just calls, but also trigger their camera, control their music and locate their phone.

COGITO FIT keeps connections beautifully simple, with only the most essential notifications and features the user needs. The COGITO FIT experience becomes more personal, with new activity and IFTTT features, and more personalizable, with a new fashion concept supporting changeable plugins.
